A: I've loved photography since high school, and I got my first non-point and shoot camera in 2001 when my first baby was born. It was before the days of digital photography, and I still love a good film print, although I haven't picked up that camera in ages. (Yep, I'm officially old.  But I kinda love it.)  I photographed friends and family for years, and I finally started Jen White Photography in 2011.  

A: Yes! Your digital collection images are yours to print at your favorite lab. To make it easy on you, and because I love the quality of a professional lab, I also offer prints, albums, and wall art for purchase through your online gallery.  Please, if you do print at another lab, be sure to choose a quality lab so that your colors will be true to what you're seeing in your online gallery.

A: Lifestyle newborn sessions are perfect for capturing your new baby in a comfortable and relaxed way.  I love coming to your home or the studio and being able to photograph your newborn in your arms and with your immediate family.  We'll capture the connection you have with your baby while also freezing in time all the little details--I especially can't get enough of those sweet baby toes.  These sessions are baby lead, so we'll take time to let baby be soothed and fed as needed.  We'll capture a variety of posed and candid shots, and I'll be there to guide you through it all.

A: Family and senior sessions usually last 40-90 minutes depending on the number of people in the session, whether small children may need a break, and if we're doing more than one outfit for seniors.  Newborn sessions can be 2-3 hours depending on whether the baby is a deep sleeper or may need a bit longer for feeding and soothing.  That's why I charge by the number of final images rather than session length.  We'll take the time your family needs to capture those precious memories.

A: This might start getting a bit technical, but I personally use a Canon 5DIV (my backups are a 5DII and a 7D). My favorite lenses are the 24-70mm f/2.8 and my 85mm f/1.8.  While I love my gear (seriously, you should see me when I buy a new lens), I'm also constantly taking classes and working with mentors to improve my skills.  Every session matters - and this is where the 10+years experience really kicks in.

A: Totally! But I want you feeling 1,000% comfortable and excited about the quality of your photographs before placing orders on those. That way, you only order exactly what you want, when you want, and when you know with confidence that they are going to look amazing on your walls and in your fine art heirloom albums. And all of this is done & ordered right through your online gallery! 

A: Yes, I do! I typically collect the collection cost at booking, but I can totally break it up into 2, 3, or 4 payments.  Whatever's best for you!  I do require full payment of your collection by your session date.

Welcome to Oregon!  Rainy days can make for beautiful images, but not all rainy days are created equal!  I'll keep an eye on the weather, and we can reschedule as needed. Depending on the forecast and type of session, we can usually make that decision the evening before or the morning of.  There are also beautiful covered bridges in the area that are perfect for a rainy day and have been some of my favorite sessions.
